Lease a Ford Puma Gen-E from £160 a month*

You can lease a Ford Puma Gen-E from £162.83 per month (initial payment: £2,307.96) on a 24-month, 5,000-miles-per-year deal through Carwow. In this version, you get 17-inch alloy wheels, a heated windscreen and a reversing camera, all included in the price, along with a manufacturer warranty and your road tax. It’s a cracking deal for a great compact SUV.
Why should you consider the Ford Puma Gen-E?
Ford has carefully considered the electric version of the Puma, which in petrol and hybrid forms is one of the UK’s best-selling new cars. The styling changes are subtle, and the interior has barely changed at all, which means you get loads of space in the cabin and in the boot, as well as a big touchscreen that works really well.

Where the Puma Gen-E differs from a conventional Puma, though, is under the skin. Instead of an engine and a fuel tank, you get a 168hp electric motor driving the front wheels and a 43kWh battery pack under the floor. That battery doesn’t sound all that big compared with some alternatives, but it’s quite efficient, giving you up to 233 miles on a single charge.
And those miles should be pretty enjoyable, because the Gen-E is every bit as good to drive as any other Puma. The steering, body control and general handling are all great, which makes it good fun on a twisty road. Around town, the Puma performs well too, and it’s fine on the motorway, although efficiency suffers slightly on faster roads.
Ford Puma Gen-E alternatives
Still not convinced? Here are some other options for you to consider:
- Hyundai Kona Electric: Cool to look at and roomy inside, but not all that exciting on the road.
- Kia Niro EV: Futuristic both inside and out, but some fiddly controls and a mediocre drive.
- Skoda Elroq: The Elroq has a long range, great value and lots of space, but a slightly firm ride.
