The Hyundai i20 is a stylish small car with sleek lines, a bold grille, and Audi-inspired touches, though its cabin doesn’t match the flair. The interior feels solid but plain, with lots of hard plastics compared to more premium-feeling alternatives such as the Peugeot 208 and Volkswagen Polo.
Equipment levels are generous, with an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, digital driver display, and plenty of adjustment for the driver’s seat. Space in the back is good for the class, and while the boot is small, it’s on par with most alternatives aside from the larger Renault Clio.
Powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine with 100hp, the i20 is lively in town thanks to light steering and excellent visibility. It’s less refined at motorway speeds, with more noise and firmer suspension than alternatives, but that setup makes it agile and fun on twisty roads.
