Save over £10,300 on a new MG S5 EV*

The MG S5 EV usually starts at £28,745, but you can get one through Carwow from £20,529. The biggest saving is on the Trophy version, which has £10,350 off at the time of writing. This is a good deal because it’s the top-spec model that gives you 298 miles of range, and you get the following features:
- 13.0-inch infotainment screen
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- 360-degree parking camera
- Wireless phone charger
- Heated front seats
- Heated steering wheel
- Electric bootlid
Why consider the MG S5 EV?

I’d recommend the MG S5 EV because it’s a genuinely well-rounded electric SUV. As the successor to the MG ZS EV, it continues MG’s focus on value while taking on strong alternatives such as the Kia EV3 and Skoda Elroq. Unlike some earlier MG models, there aren’t really any caveats here – it’s simply a solid, capable all-rounder.
The styling is quite plain, but the interior is MG’s best yet, with lots of soft-touch materials and a noticeable step up in quality compared with cars such as the MG4 EV. It’s practical too, with generous rear legroom and a 453-litre boot that makes it a good family option.
You can choose between a Standard Range model with up to 211 miles between charges or a Long Range version with up to 298 miles. Thoughtful touches such as physical climate controls and quick shortcuts for driver-assistance systems also make it easier to live with day to day.
Alternatives to the MG S5 EV
Still not convinced? Here are other options to consider:
- Skoda Elroq: Comfortable over long distances but boring to drive.
- Kia EV3: Up to 375-mile range, but a heat pump is only available on the most expensive model.
- Hyundai Kona: Really spacious but you’ll find some cheap materials inside.
