The Ford Explorer is a sleek electric SUV based on the VW ID4, but with sharper styling and a more upmarket interior. It offers up to 374 miles of range and is more engaging to drive, though it can be a bit jiggly over bumps and rear visibility is limited.

Inside, it features smart storage and a large 15.0-inch touchscreen, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s not as spacious as some alternatives, but it’s a well-equipped, family-friendly EV.
