Car changing is a big deal
Tick off your bingo cards, 2026 has already brought another new Chinese manufacturer to UK shores – and this one promises ultra-fast charging, long range and 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds
Chinese car manufacturers had a bumper year for UK sales in 2025, so it’s no surprise that just a few days into 2026 we’re already seeing the announcement of yet another new Chinese car brand on our shores. Zeekr is another offshoot of the massive Geely Holding group, the company that owns Volvo, Polestar, Smart and Lotus among others, and its first model in the UK will be this – the Zeekr 7GT.
Part estate car, part hatchback and part Ferrari 12Cilindri (look at that black panel over the face and tell us you don’t agree), the 7GT has been designed in Europe and Zeekr says it’s been tuned specifically for European roads too. It was revealed at the Brussels Motor Show, and UK sales are confirmed – although exactly when order books will open is yet to be confirmed.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
Zeekr 7GT: design and styling
The 7GT looks to be something of a successor to the Zeekr 001, which shares its high-riding hatchback sort of body shape. It’s a similar silhouette to the Kia EV6, without being as SUV-shaped as something like the Audi Q4 e-Tron or Tesla Model Y.

At the front, there’s a black panel that spans the full width of the car, as far back as the wheel arches – and positioned under this is a slim LED lightbar and almost-as-slim LED headlights.
All this is shared with the existing Zeekr 007 saloon, but at the rear there’s a boxier shape with a hatchback boot, sloping rear window and double-headed spoiler. It’s pretty attractive, helped by intricate alloy wheel designs and a two-tone paint finish.
Zeekr 7GT: interior
The 7GT’s interior is a plush affair with lots of leather trim. It’s a dramatic, wraparound cockpit with a high centre console, though it’s unclear at the moment whether it’ll feature the same clever ‘Sunflower’ infotainment screen as the 007, which can tilt towards the driver for an even more focused experience.

There are wireless phone chargers and a row of shortcut switches under the screen, and a 13.0-inch driver information display behind the steering wheel. Zeekr also promises a 35.5-inch head-up display with the same augmented-reality tech as the latest Volkswagen models, so it’ll be able to project information onto the road in front of you.
There look to be plenty of posh features that European EV buyers will be familiar with – from an upmarket stereo with speakers in the headrests, to twin wireless phone chargers, to Pet and Camping modes for the climate control. There’s also plenty of space in the back seats, by the looks of things – and a 456-litre boot, which is a bit smaller than the 490-litre Kia EV6.
Zeekr 7GT: batteries, motors, range and performance
The 7GT will be available with two battery capacities – 75kWh and 100kWh, and promises to be one of the fastest-charging EVs on sale with a 10-80% topup available in just 13 minutes from a suitably powerful charger. The 007 saloon on which the 7GT is based has a vast range of up to 540 miles per charge, though this is likely based on the less taxing Chinese testing cycle. Regardless, you can expect the 7GT to offer seriously impressive range figures.

The most powerful Privilege AWD model will also be capable of 0-62mph in just 3.3s and a top speed of 130mph – that’s just a few tenths behind the Tesla Model 3 Performance’s 3.1s 0-62mph sprint.
When can I buy a Zeekr 7GT and how much will it be?

The 7GT has just launched in the European market, and it costs from just 45,990 Euros (£39,900) for the base-spec Core model with the 75kWh battery. The Long Range Launch Edition costs from 50,990 Euros (£44,240) and the range-topping Privilege AWD 57,490 Euros (£49,879). These figures pretty much match the Tesla Model 3 in its Standard, Long Range and AWD configurations.
UK sales are confirmed but exact timings aren’t yet. Expect to hear more in the coming months, though – Zeekr has a full range of cars including the X and 7X SUVs, which would seem to be obvious next entries for a UK market onslaught. Watch this space.
