Car changing is a big deal
Looking for a bargain SUV? Here are five great used deals on some of the UK’s best-selling models.
SUVs are everywhere – and there’s a good reason why. More than half of the UK’s 10 best-selling cars this year so far are SUVs, proving how much British buyers have embraced their blend of practicality and comfort.
The good news is that you don’t need a new car budget to get your hands on one. Some of the UK’s most popular SUVs are available second-hand for much less than their showroom prices, making them tempting options if you’re looking for a bargain.
We’ve picked out five great deals on some of the UK’s best-selling SUVs, from popular family favourites to models that offer particularly strong value on the used market.
Remember, you can buy a used car right here on Carwow. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
1. Ford Puma

This is Ford’s smallest SUV and the best-selling car in the UK so far this year. It’s got eye-catching looks, is fun to drive and comes well-equipped too. It also has a large boot for a car of this size at up to 456 litres. However, the interior feels cheap and the back seats are quite tight.
The Ford Puma usually starts from £27,145, but I’ve found a great deal on a three-year-old example through Carwow for less than £14,000. This ST-Line version from 2023 comes with a 125hp 1.0-litre petrol engine, has 21,214 miles on the clock and is available for just £13,482.
You also get to enjoy features such as:
- Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
- Ford ‘Megabox’ extended bootspace
- Manual air conditioning
- Lane keeping aid with lane departure warning
- Rear parking sensor
- Sport suspension
2. Jaecoo 7

Up next is the UK’s best-selling car in September: the Jaecoo 7. This Chinese SUV has an interior that’s well-made, comes with loads of standard equipment and is easy to drive in town despite its big size. That said, it’s firm over bumps and its practicality isn’t the greatest.
We’d highly recommend opting for the plug-in hybrid version of this car, as it’s the most economical of the bunch. These versions usually start from £35,170, but I’ve found one on Carwow’s second-hand page for less than £26,000. This 2025 Luxury version comes with a 204hp 1.5-litre hybrid engine, has covered 7,139 miles and is available for £25,544.
This version some with features such as:
- Five-star safety rating
- Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
- 14.8-inch central display
- Wireless phone charger
- Sony eight speaker sound system
- Heated front seats and steering wheel
- 540-degree panoramic camera
- Adaptive cruise control
3. Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai has been in the top 10 best-sellers list for quite some time. That’s thanks to its practical, solid interior, lots of standard equipment and a fantastic hybrid engine. It’s a shame that it’s not much fun to drive and that its boot space is smaller than some alternatives.
Its hybrid option is the one to go for, so we’ve found a used example through Carwow. The cheapest Acenta Premium hybrid usually starts from £34,385, but you can get a 2023 model for less than £17,000. This has 20,545 miles on the clock and could be yours for £16,700.
You also get a range of features, including:
- Five-star safety rating
- Wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
- 8.0-inch infotainment system
- Six speakers
- Blind spot warning
- Intelligent cruise control (ICC)
- Rear parking sensors and camera
4. MG HS

This practical family SUV is also in the top 10 best-sellers list. The MG HS comes with lots of standard kit and has a fantastic plug-in hybrid engine. However, it’s not particularly enjoyable to drive and the infotainment system can be fiddly to use.
If you’re interested in a plug-in hybrid version of this car, we’ve found a great deal on a top-spec Trophy model. While this version usually starts from £34,995, take a look at this 2025 model. It comes with a 299hp 1.5-litre hybrid engine, has 14,529 miles on the clock and is available for £21,342.
It also comes with the following features:
- Five-star safety rating
- Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
- Wireless phone charging
- Eight speaker audio system
- Heated front seats
- 507-litres of boot space
- 360-degree parking camera
- Rear parking sensors
5. Volvo XC40

Finally, we have an SUV that’s been around for a long time. The Volvo XC40 may be older than some of the other cars on this list, but it’s still very practical, handsome and good to drive. It’s a shame that it has an ageing interior design and a fiddly infotainment system.
The Volvo XC40 usually starts from £36,860, but you can get a second-hand example through Carwow for a lot less. In fact, we’ve found a used example from 2024 for less than £22,000. This is for the entry-level Core version that comes with a 163hp 2.0-litre petrol engine and 25,117 miles on the clock, available for £21,910.
Here’s what this version comes with:
- Wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
- 9.0-inch touchscreen
- Wireless phone charging
- Heated front seats
- Adaptive cruise control
- Front and rear parking sensors
