Petrol and diesel versions of the new Citroen C4 X have gone on sale, following the release of the all-electric e-C4 X. Read on for all you need to know.

Following the release of the Citroen e-C4 X, you can now get this high-riding saloon with internal combustion engines as well.
Petrol versions start from £22,080, rising to £29,170 for the range-topping diesel model. The styling and interior design remain the same as the electric car.
New Citroen C4 X engines
The new Citroen C4 X range starts with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 100hp, and it’s only available with a six-speed manual gearbox. If you step up from the entry-level car you still get a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol, only now it has 130hp and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Range-topping cars are available with either the 130hp petrol engine, as well as a 1.5-litre diesel with an eight-speed auto ‘box.
New Citroen C4 X price and specs
The new Citroen C4 X range starts with the Sense model costing £22,080. This version gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.0-inch touchscreen, lane keeping assist and driver attention alert. You can only have Sense cars with the 100hp petrol engine and a manual gearbox.

Sense Plus adds built-in sat nav, voice commands for the infotainment, a head up display and a reversing camera. This car also gets the 130hp petrol engine and an automatic gearbox. The price for this added kit £25,435.
Shine models of the Citroen C4 X get styling upgrades including tinted rear windows and diamond-cut alloy wheels. You also get adaptive LED headlights and traffic sign recognition. The Shine version costs £26,980.
At the top of the range you have Shine Plus with alcantara heated seats and adaptive cruise control. You can have this version with either a 130hp petrol engine for £27,540, or there’s a 130hp diesel for £29,170.
