  • Minor styling tweaks for the coupe
  • No changes under the bonnet
  • More standard equipment
  • Available to order by the end of the year

Mercedes has tweaked the AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door for 2023 to give it a fresh look and some added standard equipment.

This alternative to the Porsche Panamera and Audi RS7 is already available to order in Germany, and it’s expected to go on sale in the UK imminently.

New Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door: what’s new?

Well, not all that much actually. The changes to this new AMG are mostly cosmetic, with most of the surgery happening up front. In an unusual move from AMG, this facelifted car appears to be slightly toned-down over the one it replaces.

Let’s take a closer look at the front bumper. Pictured above you have the new car on the left and the outgoing one on the right. If you look at the air intakes in the lower bumper, you’ll see that the new car has much slimmer side vents which look more subtle than before.

The side profile remains unchanged, meaning it still has a sporty sloping roofline, not too dissimilar to the Audi RS7. The rear lamps are also exactly the same as before, as is the diffuser with square tail pipes.

In addition to the updated front-end styling, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance also has more standard equipment than before. A power sunroof and wireless phone charging in the rear now join the list of toys, and the infotainment system has been updated with new graphics.

New Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door engine and chassis

There are no changes under the bonnet of this new Mercedes-AMG GT. You still get the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, paired with an electric motor, putting out a combined 843hp and a whopping 1,400Nm of torque.

To help put this power down to the road, the AMG GT gets a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission for lighting quick shifts, as well as all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel steering. To make sure it stops as well as it goes, you also get carbon ceramic brakes.

When can I buy the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door?

This new AMG GT is available to order now in Germany, with prices starting from 207,708 euros (around £180,000).

You’ll probably have to wait a month or two before the order books open in the UK, and prices may be slightly higher than they are on the continent thanks to the cost of importing cars to our shores.
