1. BMW M760 Li – a V12-powered limousine for the price of a family SUV
This BMW M760 Li offers a lot of bang for your buck. It would’ve cost its owner more than £130,000 back in 2017, but now it can be yours for £37,000. You can spec a Nissan Qashqai to cost more than that.
You get a massive 6.6-litre V12 engine with 610hp, and this being the long-wheelbase version it has palatial rear legroom. This will make it trickier to manoeuvre than a Qashqai though, and your fuel bills will be astronomical.
2. Subaru WRX STI – a rally-bred sports saloon
It’s been six years since Subaru stopped selling exciting sports cars in the UK, and the WRX STI was the last one. The wild styling and massive wings are par for the course on a fast Subaru, it’s certainly no shrinking violet.
Under the bonnet is a 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine with 300hp, which is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. It’s incredible to drive with plenty of grip in all conditions, but it won’t be the most comfortable commuter car. This WRX STI can be yours for £22,750, the same as a well-specced Vauxhall Corsa.
3. Alfa Romeo 4C Spider – An Italian sports car with plenty of character
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is a heart-over-head purchase. It has no interior storage space, a comically small boot, it’s not that fast and this 2016 example costs a whopping £49,000. So why should you buy one?
Well just look at it. It’s a gorgeous Italian sports car with a removable roof, a peppy petrol engine and a lovely exhaust note. What’s not to love? Well apart from the cheap-feeling interior and uncomfortable suspension.
