Your local Subaru dealer now offers free prostate cancer tests

Subaru is offering men over the age of 50 a free, at-home prostate cancer screening kit to encourage testing. All you have to do is head to your local dealer.
Most car dealerships will offer you a cup of coffee while you mull over your options; maybe a biscuit if you’re lucky. But Subaru is now offering something other than light refreshments: a prostate cancer screening kit.
Prostate cancer claims the lives of 12,300 men every year in the UK, and there are 58,000 new cases annually.
Your chances of recovery are much higher if the condition is caught early, but many men are reluctant to get tested for fear of a rather, ahem, intimate appointment with the doctor.
Don’t worry though, there’s not someone Outback (sorry) of the showroom donning the rubber gloves. Subaru is handing out a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test. It’s a simple pin-prick blood test you do at home before popping it in the post, and you get the results back within a couple of days.
A PSA test can’t diagnose prostate cancer on its own, but it can pick up the early signs so you can book in with your GP for further investigation.
