Here’s why the £20,000 Chery Tiggo 4 could be more expensive than the £30,000 Peugeot 3008

The new Chery Tiggo 4 offers an incredible amount of space and equipment for the money. At less than £20,000, you’re getting a punchy and economical hybrid engine, adaptive cruise control, twin 12.3-inch screens and a reversing camera.

All this comes in at less than the price of a mid-spec Vauxhall Corsa, a much smaller car, but it’s a different story when you lease.

The Tiggo 4 hasn’t been around for very long, so leasing prices aren’t that competitive. Right now, you can lease a much more expensive and premium car for less money though Carwow – the Peugeot 3008.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Chery Tiggo 4 vs Peugeot 3008: leasing prices

The Chery Tiggo 4 starts from £20,000, whereas the Peugeot 3008 costs from just over £33,000. You’d think with that sort of price gap that there would be no choice between the two, but when you lease your car the costs are surprising.

Right now, the Chery Tiggo 4 is available through Carwow for £302.40 per month with a £3,923.80 initial payment. This is over three years and 30,000 miles, costing you a total of £14,507.80.

We found a great lease deal on a Peugeot 3008 Allure Premium 1.2 Hybrid. Like the Chery, it’s over three years and 30,000 miles. This car can be yours for £263.88 per month with an initial payment of £3,516.55, bringing it to a total of £12,752.35.

That’s why it’s always important to look at the latest deals when you’re thinking about leasing a car – you could end up finding a bargain on a car which is more premium the one you were considering.

Chery Tiggo 4 vs Peugeot 3008: what’s the difference?

The Chery Tiggo 4 is a great small SUV, but the Peugeot 3008 sits in the class above. This means it’s bigger, more practical and feels posher.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but most people who see these two cars will agree that the Peugeot is much better looking. The Chery isn’t an ugly car, but it’s a bit anonymous compared to the bold, angular 3008.

The Peugeot’s interior looks fantastic and feels even better. We love the fabric covering on the dashboard, and material quality is even better than some ‘premium’ German SUVs. We’re looking at you, BMW X3.

Add in the fact the 3008 is way nicer to drive than the Tiggo 4, with sharper steering and more comfortable suspension, and the decision is a bit of a no-brainer. Unless you’re really wanting something smaller, leasing the Peugeot 3008 makes the most sense at these prices.

You’ll want to keep an eye on the latest lease deals though, because new offers are popping up all the time. We reckon the Tiggo 4 will come down in price the longer it’s on sale, making it a far more tempting option.
