The Jaecoo 7 Black Luxury gets a stealth look with blacked-out trim, and a new hybrid engine is now available as well.

The Jaecoo 7 is one of the best-selling cars in the UK right now. Having only been introduced in late 2024, it was the fifth most popular car sold in February 2026 – with more than 1,400 of them finding homes.

It’s no surprise that Jaecoo doesn’t want to mess with it too much, but it has just launched two new versions. There’s the Black Luxury, which gets a host of styling upgrades over the standard car, and a self-charging hybrid joins the petrol and plug-in hybrid engine options.

New Jaecoo 7 Black Luxury

It seems as though Jaecoo is playing into the budget Range Rover joke, because the new Jaecoo 7 Black Luxury is even easier to mistake for the British luxury car icon.

We’ve seen a few Jaecoo 7’s knocking around online with blacked-out badges, but now it’s a factory option. There is not a spec of chrome to be found on the Black Luxury model – it almost looks like a car from a video game that you’ve not unlocked yet.

The wheels are also completely blacked-out, as are the mirrors. It really is tricky to tell that this isn’t a Range Rover Evoque.

The Black Luxury is only available as a top-spec plug-in hybrid model, with prices starting from £36,500. That makes it around £700 more expensive than a standard Jaecoo 7 PHEV with optional black paint.

New Jaecoo 7 hybrid also launched

In addition to the Black Luxury, Jaecoo has also added a new engine option to the lineup. It’s a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid, meaning it can drive at low speeds using electric power alone without the need to plug in.

It puts out a healthy 225hp, allowing for 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds, and according to official tests, the Jaecoo 7 hybrid will return up to 53mpg.

New Jaecoo 7 hybrid price and specs

The new Jaecoo 7 hybrid will be available in two trim levels: Pure and Deluxe. The basic car will set you back £29,200, making it around £3,000 cheaper than a basic Citroen C5 Aircross. You get a 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a refrigerated centre console and front and rear parking sensors as standard. The seats are also covered in a tweed fabric instead of leatherette.

Deluxe models get a larger 14.8-inch screen, leatherette upholstery and an eight-speaker sound system in place of the six speakers you get as standard. The price for all this comes to £32,795, meaning it’s still slightly cheaper than a Citroen C5 Aircross.
