Car changing is a big deal

The free, easy way to change your car online

The Kia EV6 is a spacious and high-tech electric car which really stands out on the road. Here’s why Mat Watson thinks you should shortlist it.

I first tested the updated Kia EV6 back in 2025, and it’s still one of my favourite electric cars on the market. Here are three reasons why you should consider buying this car, as well as some tips on how to get the best price.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Three cool things about the Kia EV6

1. It’s stylish both inside and out

The EV6 looks like a spaceship on the road, especially in black with the pointy LED lights on. It’s just as nice on the inside as well thanks to the tall centre console, swoopy dashboard and funky materials. It feels posh as well, more so than a Hyundai Ioniq 5.

2. You get super-fast charging

You can charge the EV6 at up to 258kW at a compatible DC fast charger meaning you can go from 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes. It also comes with vehicle-to-load charging, so you can power household appliances like kettles using the car’s battery. Ideal for when you’re camping.

3. It’s great to drive

The EV6 feels surprisingly agile for a heavy electric car, making it fun to drive on a twisty road. It’s also a quiet, relaxing motorway cruiser, and it’s easy to drive in town thanks to the excellent surround-view camera system.

How to get the best deal on a Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 starts from £45,635, but I’d go for the GT Line S model. This gets a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated seats, a premium sound system and a head-up display, and it costs £53,735.

However, you can save over £5,000 on this car through Carwow at the time of writing, bringing it down to around £48,445.

Three annoying things about the Kia EV6

1. The boot isn’t great

You get 490 litres of boot space in the Kia EV6, which is quite a bit down on its key alternatives. A Tesla Model Y has more than 800 litres of space, and a Skoda Enyaq has 585 litres.

2. Rear visibility isn’t great

That sporty sloping roofline doesn’t do much for rear visibility, because you get a big blind spot over your shoulder. That’s part of the reason I’d get the GT Line S, because it comes with a 360-degree camera as standard.

3. It’s not the best car over bumps

It’s a great long-distance car, and it’s fun on a twisty road, but the Kia EV6 isn’t quite as comfortable over bumps as a Hyundai Ioniq 5. If you value comfort over all else, that car is a better bet.
