Nissan Leaf gets new value-for-money Acenta+ trim

Nissan Leaf buyers can now get a mid-range trim that includes a fast-charger as standard – oh, and some nifty blue wheels…
Nissan has added a fourth trim level to the Leaf electric car. Called the Acenta+, it sits just below the top-spec Tekna model and includes 17-inch alloy wheels with blue highlights and a fast charger that can fill the battery from empty in four hours.
Acenta+ models cost £1,150 more than the standard Acentas at £29,740 – although that’s before the £5,000 government plug-in grant and any savings you could make buying your Leaf with carwow. Expect to pay around £23,000 for an Acenta+ Leaf if you manage to buy one before the government grants run out.
The fast charger is Nissan’s 6.6kW item that’s usually a £1,100 option, and comes with the EVSE cable needed to connect it. To make the most of it at home you’ll need a 32 amp home charger, but the inclusion of the 6.6kW charger does open up a wider range of public charging stations.
We spent a week testing a Leaf in early 2015 and found that it was such a relaxing car to drive that range anxiety wasn’t really a worry if you put a bit of forward planning into your journey.

As well as the fast charger and those funky alloy wheels you also get all the usual kit that Acenta-level Leaf models include, such as cruise control, a suede-effect interior, a seven-inch colour infotainment screen and automatic wipers and lights.
