There’s an influx of new models coming from China over the next few months, from sensible electric SUVs to big diesel pickup trucks. Here’s a rundown of everything you can expect.

It was only a few years ago that you couldn’t buy a Chinese car in the UK – unless you count MG, which is a British brand in theory but is owned by Chinese firm SAIC Motor.

In 2025 though, there are more than 20 Chinese cars on sale here, and a new brand seems to pop up every other week. You can check out our list of the best Chinese cars currently available to see which ones are worth buying right now, but there are also plenty more new models and brands to come over the next few months.

Here’s a rundown of the most exciting new Chinese cars coming soon.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

  • Jaecoo 5
  • Omoda 7
  • Leapmotor B10
  • BYD Atto 2
  • Denza Z9GT
  • GWM Poer300
  • Chery Tiggo 8

1. Jaecoo 5

This is the new Jaecoo 5. If you’re thinking it looks familiar, that would be because it looks almost exactly the same as the larger Jaecoo 7 – which in turn means it looks a bit like a fake Range Rover Evoque.

It’ll go on sale later this year with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, and an all-electric version is also available with up to 248 miles of range. Prices for the petrol model start from £24,505, whereas the EV will cost £27,505. That makes it cheaper than a Ford Puma and a Peugeot 2008.

2. Omoda 7

Omoda and Jaecoo are actually owned by the same company, Chery, and it currently sells three cars in the UK – the 5, E5 and the 9. Well now it’s bringing a fourth car to market: the Omoda 7.

All these numbers and letters can get confusing, but the Omoda 7 is a plug-in hybrid SUV which will be an alternative to the Kia Sportage. That front end is very Lexus-esque with the bold grille and sharp creases, and under that bonnet you can expect to find a similar 1.5-litre hybrid engine as the Jaecoo 7.

3. Leapmotor B10

This is the Leapmotor B10, an electric SUV which will take on cars like the Skoda Elroq and Volvo EX40. It looks very similar on the outside to the larger C10, which is to say inoffensive but fairly unremarkable.

While not yet confirmed, the B10 is likely to use similar parts to the C10. That car has a 70kWh battery with 260 miles of range, so it’s likely the new B10 will tout similar numbers when it goes on sale in the coming months.

4. BYD Atto 2

BYD is one of the fastest-growing Chinese brands in the UK, and is one of the biggest EV manufacturers in the world. It already sells six cars here, and the seventh is due to join the lineup soon in the form of the new Atto 2. It’s a small electric SUV which will sit, funnily enough, below the Atto 3 – and it’s an alternative to the MG S5 EV.

From launch the new Atto 2 will only be available with a 45kWh battery giving it 194 miles of range, however a long-range version will come along later with 260 miles of range. Prices are yet to be confirmed, but expect this car to cost around £30,000.

5. Denza Z9GT

Now it’s time for another new brand. Denza is owned by BYD, and it’s a bit like what Lexus is to Toyota – it’s focussed on more premium cars to take on brands like Porsche and BMW. The Z9GT was the first car it unveiled, and it’s a bit of a beast.

It’s a 1,000hp electric GT car which will take on the BMW i5 Touring, and it can do 0-60mph in just 3.4 seconds. That’s half a second quicker than the quickest i5. A plug-in hybrid version will also be available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and three electric motors, which produce a combined 920hp. You can expect this car to go on sale in the UK in early 2026.

6. GWM Poer300

Here’s the polar opposite of a 1,000hp electric car – a diesel pickup truck. The Poer300 (pronounced Power, not pooer) comes from Great Wall Motors, the same company that sells the Ora 03 and the Haval Jolion Pro in the UK.

The Poer300 uses a 2.4-litre diesel engine, and it can tow a whopping 3,500kg – the same as a Ford Ranger. It’ll go on sale in September 2025, with prices starting from £31,495.

7. Chery Tiggo 8

Chery is the parent company of Omomda and Jaecoo, but now it wants to start selling cars in the UK under its own name. The new Chery Tiggo 8 is a seven-seat SUV which will take on the Skoda Kodiaq and Peugeot 5008.

You’ll be able to spec your Tiggo 8 with either a 1.6-litre petrol engine, or a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid system with up to 56 miles of electric-only range. Prices start from £28,500 for the petrol, or £33,500 for the PHEV.
