Top 5 Chinese cars coming to the UK soon
July 02, 2025 by Jamie Edkins

Car changing is a big deal
Loads of new Chinese cars have already gone on sale in the UK over the past couple of years, and there are plenty more to come. Here are five of the most important new Chinese cars coming over the next year or so.
You may have noticed a few new brands from China popping up in dealerships up and down the country. Names like Omoda, Jaecoo, BYD and Leapmotor may not have the same badge kudos as Volkswagen or BMW, but they all offer great-value cars with loads of kit on board.
There are a lot of new Chinese cars coming to the UK over the next couple of years, and we’ve rounded up five to look forward to.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
- BYD Atto 2
- Jaecoo J5
- Omoda 7
- Leapmotor B10
- Nio ET5
1. BYD Atto 2

BYD is one of the fastest-growing Chinese brands in the UK, and is one of the biggest EV manufacturers in the world. It already sells six cars here, and the seventh is due to join the lineup soon in the form of the new Atto 2. It’s a small electric SUV which will sit, funnily enough, below the Atto 3 – and it’s an alternative to the MG S5 EV.
From launch the new Atto 2 will only be available with a 45kWh battery giving it 194 miles of range, however a long-range version will come along later with 260 miles of range. Prices are yet to be confirmed, but expect this car to cost around £30,000.
2. Jaecoo 5

This is the Jaecoo 5, the first electric car to come from the brand after the petrol and plug-in hybrid Jaecoo 7. It looks pretty similar to that car, with a chunky off-road vibe and posh-looking interior.
There are limited details about specs yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising to find similar battery and motor options to the Omoda E5 under the skin – the two brands are very closely related. This means you can expect around 250 miles of range and a 204hp motor.
3. Omoda 7

Omoda launched in the UK with the 5 and E5, before revealing the Omoda 9 earlier this year. In the coming months you will also see the release of the new Omoda 7, a plug-in hybrid SUV which will take on cars like the Kia Sportage.
There’s something Lexus-esque about that front end design, with the body-coloured grille and sleek headlights making it look a bit like an RX. Expect to see a similar hybrid system to the Jaecoo 7, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor making around 200hp.
4. Leapmotor B10

This is the Leapmotor B10, an electric SUV which will take on cars like the Skoda Elroq and Volvo EX40. It looks very similar on the outside to the larger C10, which is to say inoffensive but fairly unremarkable.
While not yet confirmed, the B10 is likely to use similar parts to the C10. That car has a 70kWh battery with 260 miles of range, so it’s likely the new B10 will tout similar numbers when it goes on sale in the coming months.
5. Nio ET5

Finally we come to the Nio ET5 – a Chinese electric car which will be available as either a saloon or a more practical estate. You can think of it as an alternative to cars like the BMW i5 and Mercedes EQE, and its dual-motors produce up to 490hp.
That means 0-60mph takes just 4.0 seconds, which is almost exactly the same as an Audi S6 e-tron. Up to 348 miles of range is possible courtesy of a massive 100kWh battery pack, and we expect prices to start from over £50,000.
