Blue cars FAQs

Yes, in fact blue was the third most popular colour for a car in the UK (going by new car sales) in 2024.

It can be. There are some slightly dull blues around, but there are also some really cool ones, such as BMW’s Portimao Blue, which look great.

Blue does OK in terms of keeping a car’s value. Black, white, or silver/grey are the strongest colours, in resale terms, but blue is close behind, unless it’s an outlier such as a pale baby blue.

Yes and no. If it’s a darker blue, then some dirt will blend in, but lighter, dustier dirt - especially during a warm summer - will show up.

Not especially, but a dark metallic blue will show up scratches more than some other colours, so careful attention to paint care and maintenance is a good idea.
