This electric SUV is a bargain if you want high-performance and comfort in one package.

Some people must really like custard. It’s the only reason I can think of why you see so many of these cars with a yellow paint job.

I’m talking about the Volvo EX30, a brilliant electric SUV. Thankfully it’s also available in more restrained colours.

The EX30 is a great car and fine value for money if you buy a new one. But, if you don’t mind someone else being the first name on the logbook, you can buy a used example at a bargain price. There are plenty of these Volvos for sale through Carwow’s network of trusted dealers.

Did you know you can buy a used car right here on Carwow? We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Pay less than £25,000 for a used Volvo EX30*

Deals are changing all the time, but right now the cheapest EX30 through Carwow is priced at less than £25,000. That buys you a 200kW Single Motor 51kWh Plus which has covered just 2,020 miles. I’d say it’s barely run in, only EVs don’t need running in…

If you bought the same car brand new, you’d be looking at a price of £33,660, so the used car saves over £9,000.

You don’t have to pay an awful lot more for extra power and kit. For £25,999 there’s a 315kW Twin Motor Performance 69kWh Ultra which has covered just under 30,000 miles.

Why buy a used Volvo EX30

The Volvo is a great buy, with a wowscore of 9/10. Our news editor, Jamie, has been running one on a long-term test and aside from some software niggles he’s been very impressed.

I think it looks great and the Twin Motor models go like stink. The ride is comfortable and the driver assistance tech is very effective.

It’s not the roomiest car in the back or the boot, though, and just about everything is controlled through the touchscreen. Oh, and I’m not a fan of custard yellow.

Alternatives to the Volvo EX30

A used EX30 is really good value, but if you want some alternatives to consider look at some of these:

  • Kia EV3: With a range of 375 miles, the EV3 easily tackles long drives. The cabin feels cheap in places, though.
  • Skoda Elroq: Not as posh as the Volvo, but this roomy EV is the more family-friendly car.
  • Smart #1: The Smart is similar to the Volvo under the skin, and shares similar strengths and weaknesses with the EX30.
