The Peugeot 3008 is a stylish family SUV that competes against the Ford Kuga, Nissan Qashqai and SEAT Ateca. It boasts handsome styling but will it fit in your garage? Discover that and more in our dimensions guide.
Peugeot 3008 exterior dimensions
The 3008 is a fairly large car for its class – taller and longer than both the SEAT Ateca and the Nissan Qashqai. The 3008 is slimmer than both those cars, however, so will be easier to squeeze through narrow gaps. The Ford Kuga is taller and longer than the 3008 but slightly slimmer.

Peugeot 3008 interior dimensions
The 3008’s interior offers a reasonable amount of room compared to competitors but, if you spec the optional panoramic glass sunroof, rear headroom will be reduced slightly. You can easily fit three rear passengers thanks to decent shoulder room, kneeroom and headroom, although a Toyota RAV4 is slightly roomier.
Peugeot 3008 boot space
The 3008’s boot is smaller than many of its competitors at 520 litres – that said, it edges out the boot space of the Ford Kuga with 442 litres. Fold down the 3008’s rear seats and you’ll be greeted by a 1,580-litre cargo space – slightly less than the VW Tiguan and a staggering 300 litres less than the Kuga with the seats down.
|Rear seats up||520 litres|
|Rear seats folded||1,580 litres|
Peugeot 3008 fuel tank size and turning circle
Petrol and diesel 3008 models feature a 53-litre fuel tank. This means the frugal entry-level 99hp 1.6-litre diesel that claims to average 70.6mpg has a theoretical range just shy of 800 miles. The 131hp 1.2-litre petrol can achieve a respectable theoretical range of 600 miles on a tank. Even the powerful 181hp range-topping 2.0-litre diesel engine returning a claimed 59mpg, can achieve a respectable theoretical range of more than 650 miles.
The 3008 has a somewhat average turning circle for the class but can out-manoeuvre the Tiguan and the RAV4. That said, the Renault Kadjar’s 10-metre circle and the Kia Sportage’s 10.6-metre circle make them slightly better at performing tight turns around town.
|Fuel tank||53 litres|
|Turning circle||10.7 metres|
Peugeot 3008 weight and towing capacity
Entry-level 3008s tip the scales at 1,250kg, while the large 2.0-litre diesel model brings the weight of the car up to 1,465kg. If you’re looking to tow, the 2.0-litre diesel version with a manual gearbox has a max braked trailer towing capacity of 2,000kg – heavier than the Nissan Qashqai and Toyota RAV4.
However, if you find yourself towing often, the VW Tiguan may be a better choice for you – it can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 2,500kg and offers an optional trailer assist feature – allowing the car to reverse the trailer for you.
|Max braked trailer towing weight||1,200-2,000kg|
