About Cupra cars

Cupra is a young company, having only been around since 2018. However, before that it existed as the performance division of Spanish car manufacturer SEAT. Cupra broke off to become a standalone company, though it still operates under the Volkswagen Group umbrella and has close ties to SEAT, with some of its models still being sportier versions of SEAT cars.

Despite this, its range of unique models is increasing, with the Formentor and all-electric Born and Tavascan. What all these models have in common is stand-out styling that’s designed to appeal to younger buyers in particular.

Cupra generally builds quality cars, using tried and tested Volkswagen Group bases and building on them with a bit more fun and character than most alternatives manage. There’s also a little more focus on the driver, which is great for people who enjoy driving.
