The 7 best Fisker Ocean alternatives
May 06, 2025 by Jamie Edkins

Car changing is a big deal
If you like the look of the Fisker Ocean, but don’t fancy owning something from a defunct brand, here are seven great alternatives which offer similar levels of style and tech.
The Fisker Ocean showed great promise when it first hit the market back in 2023. It was stylish, well-priced and packed with tech, although numerous software glitches made themselves apparent to our own Mat Watson when he tested the car.
And these are unlikely to get any better now, because Fisker went bust shortly after the Ocean was launched – resulting in chaos for existing owners and values of these SUVs going through the floor.
You can pick up Oceans with delivery mileage for well under £20,000, less than half the price they were when new. But you’re unlikely to want to buy one, because a total lack of aftersales support means you’re just one software malfunction away from having a very expensive garden ornament.
So what if you fancy a stylish, left-field electric car with less of the risk? Well we’ve picked seven great Fisker Ocean alternatives.
1. Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 is one of the best electric cars you can buy for less than £50,000. It looks great, has a lovely interior and it’s fantastic to drive, even if it’s not quite as comfortable as something like a Hyundai Ioniq 5. This small niggle aside though, you get impressive range and super-fast charging speeds.
2. Tesla Model Y

If interior space is a priority for you, then the Tesla Model Y is hard to ignore. It has cavernous rear seats, a massive boot and generous under-bonnet storage. Some of the tech is a bit too complicated, but it offers decent range and fast charging speeds as well as access to Tesla’s excellent Supercharger network.
3. Peugeot E-3008

Few electric SUVs stand out quite like the Peugeot E-3008. The exterior design is really striking, and the cabin is just as lovely with its swoopy dashboard and posh materials. It’s a bit jiggly around town, but with up to 435 miles of range on offer this is easy to forgive – that’s only five miles off the longest-range Fisker Ocean.
4. Jaecoo 7

The Jaecoo 7 could be an ideal choice if you’re after something a bit quirky but aren’t quite ready to commit to a full EV. It can do more than 50 miles on electric power alone, and you have the backup of a 1.5-litre petrol engine for longer trips. It may not be the most comfortable SUV out there, but the boxy styling and posh interior stand in its favour.
5. Renault Scenic E-Tech

How about some Parisian flair? The Renault Scenic E-Tech is a great-looking electric SUV with an excellent Google-based infotainment system on board which is really easy to use. The interior does feel a bit cheap in places, but at least it’s nice and spacious. The Scenic is also pretty efficient and offers good driving range.
6. Cupra Tavascan

For a bit of sporty flavour you might want to check out the Cupra Tavascan. It certainly looks aggressive with its angular bodywork and coupe-esque roofline, but underneath all that muscular bravado lies a comfortable and spacious family SUV. You’ll just need to get used to the slightly grabby brakes.
7. BYD Sealion 7

The BYD Sealion 7 is the Chinese brand’s flagship electric SUV, and it has plenty going for it. The cabin is roomy and nicely made, you get loads of standard equipment and the motors are really powerful. It’s just a shame that it’s quite expensive, and it’s not the most efficient EV out there.
