Hyundai 7 seater range: current models

So, you want a Hyundai and it must have space for seven? Here are the cars to consider…

Hyundai Santa Fe

The latest Hyundai Santa Fe has a more distinctive design than the old model. It’s muscular, sharp-edged, and makes an immediate impression. Inside, there’s room for seven passengers in three rows of seats. Take your pick from full hybrid or plug-in hybrid power. If the price of the new model looks a bit steep, earlier generations make practical and affordable second-hand buys.

Hyundai i800

There are large MPVs, and then there’s the Hyundai i800. This whopper of a people-mover has loads of space inside. We’ve included it in our round-up of Hyundai seven-seaters, but it can actually seat eight. Although very roomy, the middle row of seats doesn’t fold away which is a shame if you want to carry lots of luggage rather than people. It hasn’t been on sale as a new car for several years, so if you want an i800 you will need to buy a used example.

Hyundai 7 seater cars FAQs

NYes, the Hyundai Santa Fe is a seven-seater. Some earlier generations were offered with a choice of five seats or seven, so check that the third row is there before buying a used Hyundai Santa Fe. Roughly one-in-four used cars won’t have seats six and seven.
No. The Tucson is smaller than the Santa Fe, and has five seats, not seven.
Although the i800 MPV is very roomy, as an all-round buy the Santa Fe is a smarter bet for most buyers. It’s better to drive and more generously equipped than the i800.
