This is the new Vauxhall Corsa, and this alternative to the Volkswagen Polo and Renault Clio has been given updated styling to keep it in line with other cars in the Vauxhall range.

Along with the refreshed styling, the Corsa has updated interior tech and the electric version has a more powerful motor and more range. You can order this new car now with prices starting from £19,625 and first deliveries expected in the autumn.

How much is the new Vauxhall Corsa?

The new Vauxhall Corsa starts from £19,625 if you go for one with a petrol engine, or £32,445 if you want the Corsa Electric. Both are available in three trim levels: Design, GS and Ultimate.

Vauxhall Corsa Design

Entry-level design versions of the new Vauxhall Corsa come with automatic LED headlights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and rear parking sensors. Petrol engined Design models start from £19,625, rising to £32,445 if you want the electric version.

Vauxhall Corsa GS

GS versions of the Corsa cost from £22,005 for the petrol model and £34,080 for the electric. For your extra cash you get goodies such as a reversing camera, a 10.0-inch touchscreen, 17-inch alloy wheels and a digital driver’s display.

Vauxhall Corsa Ultimate

For the Ultimate Corsa, you’ll have to part with £25,685 for a combustion engined car, or £38,585 for the EV. Splashing the cash will get you adaptive LED headlights, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and keyless entry and start. You also get heated massage seats and a heated steering wheel.

New Vauxhall Corsa design

This is just a facelift for the Vauxhall Corsa, and it gets some minor design tweaks to keep it looking modern and keep it in line with other Vauxhall models.

The main change up front is the addition of Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front end. It was first seen on the Mokka, and has since been introduced on the new Astra, Grandland and Crossland. It neatly blends the headlights into one gloss black panel across the front end of the car.

There are no changes down the side, with the exception of some new 17.0-inch alloy wheels. The Corsa is still only available as a five door, and you can get it with a contrasting black roof.

There’s a new badge on the boot, with the Vauxhall Griffin logo now available in black and the word Corsa spelled out across the back. The tail lights have been given a tweak as well.

New Vauxhall Corsa Electric motors and batteries

The Vauxhall Corsa Electric has seen a pretty big change under the skin, with a new motor and battery now available.

It now has a 51kWh battery, paired with a new 156hp electric motor. That’s up from 136hp in the previous car, although this lower-powered motor is still available.

If you go for the 156hp model, you get 255 miles of range. That’s a 15% increase over the 222 miles in the outgoing car, although you will pay a premium for this new setup. The 136hp car still has 222 miles of range.

New Vauxhall Corsa engines

The new Vauxhall Corsa is available with the same range of petrol engines as before, meaning you have a choice of three 1.2-litre three-cylinder units.

The entry-level car has 75hp and a five-speed manual gearbox. It may be the most basic, but it’s also the cheapest to buy. You can also have a 100hp engine with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and there’s a 130hp option with an eight-speed auto.

A new hybrid version of the Corsa will also be available at a later date. While there are no official specs for this car yet, it’s likely to use the same system as the recently-revised Peugeot 208. This would mean a 1.2-litre engine with 136hp.

New Vauxhall Corsa interior and infotainment

The Vauxhall Corsa’s cabin has been given a few upgrades for 2023, most notably the new infotainment system.

You now get a 10.0-inch screen as standard, up from the 7.0-inch screen in the outgoing car. It has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging is available as well.

Elsewhere, the 7.0-inch digital driver’s display has some new graphics, and the steering wheel design has been updated. Automatic models also now have a rocker switch for the gear selector rather than a big lever.
