The Icon special edition is based on the mid-range SE-L Nav trim level with a 1.5-litre engine – as a result, it comes as standard with climate control, cruise control, a seven-inch touchscreen display with sat nav, and LED headlights. Additional features not available on the SE-L Nav but fitted as standard to the Icon include black leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, dusk sensing lights and rain sensing wipers.
The exterior boasts 16-inch alloy wheels with a gunmetal grey finish and new metallic red wing mirrors, front splitter and rear spoiler. These items are complimented by similarly bright stickers on the doors.
Buyers will be offered a choice of Meteor Grey Mica or Crystal White pearlescent paint as standard – you would normally expect to pay £550 for these colours, even on top-spec MX-5 models. The 600 cars made available for the UK market will be priced at £20,995 when they goes on sale on 1 August.
