Drag race: Tesla Cybertruck vs Ford F-150 Raptor R

Mat’s taken a fancy to the Ford F-150 Raptor R today. Under the bonnet is a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 with 700hp and 868Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox, and the Ford tips the scales at 2,703kg. To own this slice of American pie you’ll have to part with £86,000.

Lining up next to the F-150 at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Texas is the new Cybertruck. This bit of metal origami has three electric motors powering all four wheels, giving it 845hp and 930Nm of torque. The massive battery pack and the bulletproof stainless steel bodywork does add to the weight, with the Cybertruck coming in at 3,084kg. The cost? Just under £80,000.
