Drag race: new Porsche Cayenne Electric takes on the Ferrari Purosangue and Lamborghini Urus
July 25, 2026 by Mat Watson
This is the new Porsche Cayenne Electric, and I’ve already put this car through its paces a couple of times. I pitted myself against Orlando Bloom to see who can get it down the quarter-mile the fastest, and I’ve even raced it against the world’s largest plane.
But now, it’s time for a (slightly) more relevant test: is it faster than a Ferrari Purosangue and a Lamborghini Urus? I’m going to race all three cars to find out.
Let’s take a look at the stats, starting with the Porsche.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
New Porsche Cayenne Electric
This is Porsche’s largest electric car to date, and it has the power to go along with it. The car I have here is the range-topping Turbo version, and it has two electric motors which produce a combined 1,156hp and 1,500Nm of torque, and power is sent to all four wheels.

It is rather heavy though, tipping the scales at 2,645kg. It also costs £130,000, which may seem like a lot, but it’s actually the least expensive car in today’s lineup by quite some margin.
Ferrari Purosangue
The award for most expensive car goes to the Ferrari Purosangue, because it costs £313,000. For this you get a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 725hp and 716Nm of torque, and power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

It may be down on power compared to the Porsche, but it’s also down on weight. It tips the scales at 2,133kg.
Lamborghini Urus
This is the Lamborghini Urus Performante, and it has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 666hp and 850Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

The Lambo weighs in at 2,150kg, and it costs £209,000.
So then, what will happen? The Porsche has the power, but the colossal weight could hold it back. Make sure you check out this week’s video to see how it all goes down.
