I drag raced every V12 Lamborghini to find out which one is fastest

October 03, 2026 by

I’ve got a really exciting drag race for you today, because it’s time to run all six of Lamborghini’s V12-powered flagships down the quarter-mile. There’s 53 years worth of progress on display here, as well as millions of pounds worth of metal.

Let’s take a closer look at the stats.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Lamborghini Miura

Kicking us off, we have the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV. Built in 1973, this car has a 3.9-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 385hp and 400Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels only via a five-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs 1,293kg.

Lamborghini Countach 5000S

Moving on to 1982, this is a Lamborghini Countach. It has a 4.8-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 375hp and 410Nm of torque, and it also has rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. It’s a bit heavier than the Miura though at 1,480kg.

Lamborghini Diablo

Next up, we have the Lamborghini Diablo from 1991. It has a 5.7-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 492hp and 580Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels only via a five-speed manual gearbox. It weighs 1,567kg.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

This is a Lamborghini Murcielago from 2007, and it’s powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 640hp and 660Nm of torque. It’s a rare six-speed manual car, and it’s also rear-wheel drive. This car tips the scales at 1,765kg.

Lamborghini Aventador S

Now we come to the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador, which has a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 740hp and 690Nm of torque. This drives all four wheels via a seven-speed robotised manual gearbox, and the Aventador weighs in at 1,675kg.

Lamborghini Revuelto

Finally, we have the Lamborghini Revuelto. Like the Aventador, it has a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine, but it’s assisted by three electric motors – two on the front axle and one between the engine and gearbox. Combined, you get 1,015hp and 1,062Nm of torque driving all four wheels with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It’s the heaviest car here though, coming in at 1,872kg.

So how far has Lamborghini come in the last half a century? Make sure you watch this week’s video to find out.
