Drag race: how fast are these new Chinese luxury cars? 

I’ve got hold of the new Denza Z9 GT, an electric family car with over 1,100hp, as well as the 1,600hp Denza Z electric supercar.

To find out just how fast these cars are, I’m going to race the Z9 GT against a Lamborghini Temerario. The winner of that race will take on the Denza Z, then I have a Suzuki Hayabusa as the final boss. Let’s take a look at the stats.

Denza Z9 GT

First off, the Denza Z9 GT has three electric motors putting out a combined 1,156hp and 1,210Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels, but this four-door family car is rather heavy thanks to its massive 122kWh battery – tipping the scales at almost 2,900kg.

Lamborghini Temerario

The Lamborghini Temerario has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, as well as three electric motors. Combined, you get 920hp and 1,000Nm of torque. It also has an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with launch control, and the car weighs 1,790kg.

Denza Z

This is the Denza Z Racing, the most hardcore version of Denza’s new electric supercar. It has three electric motors, all-wheel drive and a combined 1,604hp and 1,240Nm of torque. It’s lighter than the Z9 GT, but it still comes in at a hefty 2,250kg.

Suzuki Hayabusa

Finally, we have the Suzuki Hayabusa. It’s been modified with a slightly larger engine, 1.4-litres up from 1.3-litres, and it has a supercharger. It produces 450hp and 320Nm of torque, and with the rider it weighs just 340kg. That means it has around 1,300hp per tonne, way more than anything else here.
