Porsche 911 Turbo S vs Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS: how much faster is the flagship in a drag race?
July 11, 2026 by Mat Watson
The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS was the first 911 to get hybrid power back in 2024, but now Porsche has added the technology to the flagship Turbo S to give it even more power than before.
But just how much faster is it than the GTS? I’m going to race them down the quarter-mile to find out. Let’s take a quick look at the stats.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS
Let’s start with the underdog. It has a 3.6-litre flat-six engine with a single electric turbocharger, and as a result you get 541hp and 610Nm of torque going to all four wheels.

The Carrera 4 GTS weighs in at 1,595kg, and it costs £137,900. That’s a lot less than the Turbo S, but how much more power do you get for your money?
Porsche 911 Turbo S
The Porsche 911 Turbo S costs just under £200,000, and it also has a 3.6-litre flat-six engine. It has two electric turbochargers, meaning you get 711hp and 800Nm of torque.

Power goes to all four wheels, but the Turbo S is heavier than the Carrera 4 GTS – tipping the scales at 1,725kg.
What will happen?
I’m expecting the 911 Turbo S to walk this one, but what’s going to be interesting is how big the gap is. You’ll pay over 40% more for the Turbo S compared to the GTS, so will it be 40% quicker?
You’ll have to watch this week’s video to find out.
