2012 Lexus GS - Full details revealed

The prices and specification for the all-new Lexus GS range have been announced. The GS 250 is now available with a V6 petrol engine in addition to the more powerful GS 450 hybrid.
Both are available with three different trim levels, with prices starting at 32,995 for the GS 250 and 44,995 for the GS 450h.

Exterior

The exterior is Lexus-sober, albeit with a futuristic twist around the front. Its a good-looking design, but anonymous, which is probably just what a Lexus buyer is after.
Extroverts will be able to pimp it up a bit though with a range of nine colours: Arctic Pearl, Sonic Silver, Velvet Black, Mercury Grey, Meteor Blue, Crimson Red, Atlantic Blue, Celestial Black and, for the GS 450h only, Obsidian Black.
The base model GS 250 SE - only available with a petrol engine - has 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlamps and windscreen wipers, LED daytime running lights and a rear-view camera with parking guide monitor.

The Luxury model adds add bigger 18-inch alloys, front and rear parking sensors, and a blind spot detection system built into the door mirrors while the top-of-the-range Premier - only available with the GS 450 hybrid - adds different wheels and bi-xenon headlights. It also gets the F Sports adaptive suspension and selectable drive modes plus preventive safety package featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Crash Safety.

Interior

The interior is oddly-American, and demonstrates just how unimportant little ole Europe is in the big scheme of things, although it is all beautifully installed with a peerless fit and finish.
Customers can choose from six different colours of leather, with the SE and Luxury models having gloss black dash inserts; the GS 450h gets either Walnut, Ebony or Bamboo wood trims depending on the colour of leather that has been selected.

The GS F-Sport

The F Sport model is, as the name implies, the sporty model and so is available in a different palette to let the world know that you are no ordinary Lexus driver: Arctic Pearl, Sonic Silver, Velvet Black, Mercury Grey and Crimson Red.

Further changes include 19-inch alloy wheels, a boot-lip spoiler and different bumpers and front grille as well as bi-xenon headlights with automatic high beam and Lexuss Adaptive Front-lighting System, which swivels the lights in the direction of the steering.
