BMW 6 Series Convertible – £15,714 average saving
BMW’s largest drop-top, the 6 Series Convertible, is currently available with a whopping £15,714 average saving through carwow. Whichever model you choose, you’ll be treated to smart looks, a roomy interior and bags of modern kit, including BMW’s excellent iDrive infotainment system. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel as sporty as some other BMW models, but it’s relaxed and refined and makes an excellent cross-continent cruiser.
Vauxhall Cascada – £7,307 average saving
The Vauxhall Cascada is currently offered with an impressive 25 per cent discount through carwow. It might be based on the Zafira’s chassis, but it rides surprisingly well and boasts a fairly spacious cabin, too. It’s neither a sports car, nor a luxurious grand tourer but wind noise is well contained and it’ll happily cruise along at motorway speeds if you pick a more powerful 1.6-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel model.
Citroen DS 3 Cabriolet – £4,461 average saving
An entry-level Citroen DS 3 Cabriolet can be had for less than £20,000 but you could save on average £4,461 by buying through carwow. Put this saving towards a mid-range 128hp petrol engine and this funky French supermini will sprint from 0-62mph in nine seconds and return 60mpg. It’s not a traditional convertible – two metal roof rails stay in place when you roll back the fabric top – but it’ll happily put a big windy smile on your face in the summer months.
VW Beetle Cabriolet – £5,576 average saving
The VW Beetle Cabriolet’s cutesy retro styling lends it buckets more charm than the rather sober Golf Cabriolet on which it’s based. As you’d expect, it’s not quite as practical as the hard-top Beetle but it’s offered with the same range of efficient engines including a 1.6-litre diesel that’ll return 65mpg. As an added bonus, this fun fabric-topped four-seater is now available with an average carwow saving of £5,576 – that’s 23 per cent off.
Mercedes SLC – £8,143 average saving
Mercedes’ smallest drop-top, the SLC, is now offered with a huge £8,143 saving through carwow. This 22-per-cent discount could help you upgrade from a rather uninspiring 185hp petrol with a manual gearbox to a more powerful 245hp engine with a slick-shifting nine-speed automatic gearbox. All models boast excellent build quality and smart cabins while a folding metal roof – in place of rival’s fabric offerings – will help make it quieter at motorway speeds.
Mercedes SL – £24,522 average saving
The comfortable Mercedes SL is a luxurious rival to the likes of the BMW 6 Series Convertible and Jaguar F-Type, and it’s now available with an average saving of 19 per cent off through carwow. A recent facelift grants the SL stylish new looks and an excellent nine-speed automatic gearbox while top-spec AMG 65 models feature a twin-turbo V12. This ferociously powerful, yet super smooth, engine will sprint the spacious SL from 0-62mph in four seconds flat.
Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet – £29,726 average saving
Few rivals can match the exquisite Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet for opulent open-topped motoring. This flash four-seater comes with boatloads of kit and is even available with the same twin-turbocharged V12 as the Sl65 – albeit at a price. Range-topping models will cut a sizeable £195,875 hole in your wallet. Buy through carwow, however, and you could save on average 18 per cent (£29,726).
BMW M240i Convertible – £4,979 average saving
The sporty BMW M240i Convertible is the fastest version of BMW’s drop-top 2 Series. Its 340hp 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine can sprint it from 0-62mph in just 4.7 seconds – providing you pick a model with an automatic ‘box – while its 38mpg fuel economy figure isn’t too bad for a sporty soft top. It’s currently offered with an average 16 per cent, or £4,979, discount through carwow, too.
BMW 4 Series Convertible – £ 5,881 average saving
BMW’s 4 Series Convertible makes a tempting candidate for affordable summer fun thanks to an average saving of £5,881 when you buy through carwow. This slinky drop top not only looks good but it rides well and is offered with a selection of sporty, yet economical engines. The most frugal, a 2.0-litre diesel, can manage 55.4mpg but the pick of the range is a silky 3.0-litre petrol in 440i models that produces 326hp.
BMW M4 Convertible – £ 6,559 average saving
If the standard 4 Series Convertible is a little too tame for you, the raucous BMW M4 Convertible is currently offered with a hefty £6,559 average discount, too. It boasts the same well-built cabin as the 4 Series but adds a few sporty touches including more supportive seats and plenty of M badges. Most importantly, however, it comes fitted with a 431hp twin-turbocharged six cylinder engine that’ll launch it from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds.
