Skoda Superb Estate (2015-2019) interior

While Skoda has kept the design of the Superb’s interior very simple, it feels extremely well built and its clear layout makes it very easy to use.

Style

The Superb is as well built as considerably more expensive cars

Inside, the Superb feels as well built as a more expensive car from the class above. SE L Executive models and above get an 9.2-inch touchscreen with sat-nav that is easy to use and makes the interior look super modern.

Beyond that, the interior is brimming with useful features that make everyday life just that little bit easier. That includes (on most models) not just umbrellas hidden in the front doors and the removable rechargeable torch in the boot, but also an ice scraper hidden under the fuel flap and an iPad dock for the rear seats that can be attached to the front centre armrest or the front seats’ headrests.

From SE trim upwards, the Superb also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a useful feature that means the Superb can mirror the screen of a suitable smartphone. The system can then read text messages and access your music collection through the car’s touchscreen.

The Superb’s neat cabin has some impressively plush materials and an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system, but it’s not as distinctive as some alternatives

Infotainment

Watch our Skoda Superb Estate infotainment and interior review

All cars get Skoda’s extremely straightforward touchscreen infotainment system. Basic models come with a 6.5-inch screen that has big icons and easy-to-understand menus, but not much else in terms of functionality.

One step above, and standard from SE trim upwards, is the upgraded system with a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen. It doesn’t include sat-nav, but it does get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring so you can use your phone for guidance or streaming music.

The most expensive system has an even larger 9.2-inch screen, and also adds internet connectivity and sat-nav. This means that the system will automatically adjust your route, if it’s warned of a traffic jam ahead. It can also look up nearby fuel prices, but unless you simply must have Skoda’s sat-nav, the mid-range system is better value.
