These are the most exciting cars arriving before 2030!

It’s an exciting time to be a driver, because there are a lot of cool and revolutionary new cars on the horizon. With more focus than ever on electric power, EVs are getting more and more advanced with new battery and motor tech. Even the most brutal of sports cars are making use of electrical assistance to extract as much power as possible.

And it’s not just bonkers sports cars either, there are a lot of sensible, affordable small cars to come as well. We’ve compiled a list of the most interesting new cars you can expect to see before 2030.

Audi TT

Well, sort of. This is the new Audi Concept C, and it previews a future sports car which could bear the TT name. It’s a stunning bit of design, with clean lines and a minimalist look which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age.

Concept cars usually look so wild that they need to be toned down for production, but the Concept C may be able to go on sale looking pretty much as you see it here. You’ll have to wait a few years before you see this car on the road though.

Audi RS5 Avant

The new Audi A5 and S5 have both been on sale for a while now, but where’s the full-fat RS5? The answer is – at least a year away, but we’ve managed to take some camouflaged spy shots and use them to predict what this supercar-slaying estate car could look like.

It’ll almost certainly use a V6 engine, possibly the same 3.0-litre unit found in the S5, with a plug-in hybrid system to boost power. Around 550hp would easily be possible, and that would be a significant upgrade over the 450hp you got from the old RS4 Avant.

BMW iX3

The old BMW iX3 was based on the petrol-powered X3, but the new one will be a standalone electric car. It’ll also be the first car to use BMW’s Neue Klasse (New Class) electric architecture; a collection of new parts which will give it improved range and efficiency over its predecessor.

The new iX3 will also be the first production car sporting BMW’s new design language, something which was first introduced on the Neue Klasse concept a few years ago. It gets a sleek new look with thin kidney grilles up front and a sporty silhouette, and it’ll be revealed in full at the Munich Motor Show in September this year.

BMW 3 Series

Hot on the heels of the iX3, the new BMW 3 Series is slated for a reveal in 2026. It’ll be the first time this iconic saloon car will be offered as a pure EV, but petrol and hybrid options will also be available.

Our spy shots show that it’ll have a similar design to the Neue Klasse concept from a couple of years ago, and the interior will also feature BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive infotainment system. It uses a new type of display which spans the entire width of the cabin with clever 3D graphics which allow you to use certain functions without taking your eyes off the road.

BMW M3

The new 3 Series is exciting, but what about the M3? Well, that’ll come along a little while after the 3 Series, possibly in 2027. We created these exclusive renders to give you an idea of what it could look like.

The main headline here is that it’ll be an EV for the first time, and it could have as much as 1,300hp from four electric motors. Fear not, petrolheads, because BMW is also working on making the 3.0-litre straight six petrol engine in the current M3 compliant with the latest emissions standards, so a new petrol version is also on the cards.

Cupra Raval

This is the new Cupra Raval, and it’s one of three affordable new electric cars coming from the Volkswagen Group this year. The design was first teased with the wild-looking UrbanRebel concept, and now a toned-down production version has been spotted testing.

Under the skin it’ll be more or less the same as the new Volkswagen ID 2 all and Skoda Epiq, meaning you can expect around 270 miles of range. The concept was powered by a 234hp motor on the front axle, and there’s nothing to suggest this won’t be the case for the final car. It will be revealed officially at the IAA Munich Motor Show in September.

Jaguar Type 00

Very few concept cars have caused as much of a stir as the Jaguar Type 00. Following a rather contentious rebrand in 2024, the company revealed this mad-looking all-electric GT car which will go on sale in 2026. A roadgoing production version could be revealed this year though.

It’ll use an all-new battery and motor combination which will give it almost 480 miles of range, and the minimalist interior looks like a luxury spa rather than a saloon car’s cabin. Expect a price tag of well over £100,000.

Range Rover EV

The full-size Range Rover is one of the most luxurious SUVs you can buy, and what better way to make it even more serene than by offering an all-electric version. The new Range Rover EV is slated for a reveal in the first half of next year, with first deliveries starting by the end of 2026.

Technical details are thin on the ground, but Range Rover has said that this car will offer similar performance to the V8 version; meaning 0-60mph should take around 4.3 seconds. You’ll have to wait until the covers are pulled off to find out about batteries and range though, because this car will use completely new EV tech.

Polestar 5

Having spent four years prior with just one car in its lineup, Polestar gave us the new 3 and 4 in 2024. Well in 2025 there’s another new model coming from the Swedish brand, a luxury four-door coupe which will take on the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.

The design appears to be very similar to the smaller 4, although this car does have a unique rear light bar. Under the skin it’ll use an all-new collection of parts which were made for this car, and it’ll also be available with more than 880hp.

Porsche Boxster EV

Porsche’s baby sports car is set to go electric next year, and the new Boxster EV has been spotted testing a few times. The hard-top Cayman will also go in the same direction, although there are no exact technical specs for either car yet.

They could share some parts with the Mission R concept though, namely the 435hp front motor. That would give it a healthy increase over the current car’s 300hp output, and should be enough to offset the added weight of the batteries.

Renault Twingo

If the Dacia Spring seems a bit too spartan for you, then you may want to wait for the new Renault Twingo to go on sale. The final production car should be revealed before the end of 2025, just after the new Renault 4 goes on sale, with cars hitting the showrooms in 2026.

UK prices for this dinky electric car haven’t been revealed just yet, but Renault has said that it’s aiming for a starting price of under 20,000 Euros. That equates to £17,000, placing it right in the Dacia Spring’s crosshairs.

Skoda Epiq

This is the new Skoda Epiq, a small electric concept car which will share parts with the Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID 2all. It’s a lot more rugged-looking than either of those cars, but it’s still only around the same size as a Skoda Kamiq.

The Epiq promises a 248-mile range, as well as a spacious interior. You get a 490-litre boot, which is around the same size as the larger Karoq, and it’ll also have a sub-£22,000 price tag.

New Tesla affordable EV

Tesla’s long-awaited entry-level electric car is on the horizon, and it could end up being a stripped-back version of the Model Y. Reports from Chinese social media suggest that it’ll have fabric seats, a smaller battery, a non-powered tailgate and fewer speakers.

The story of Tesla’s entry-level EV has been a long one, with multiple rumours that it would be cancelled in favour of the self-driving Cybercab. Tesla’s Q1 earnings report put a stop to these murmurings though, with an emphasis on “new, more affordable models” coming in 2025.

Volkswagen ID 2all

Volkswagen will be launching a sub-£22,000 electric car this year, and it’ll be based on this: the ID 2all concept car. It’s one of a trio of small EVs from VW, Skoda and Cupra, and it’ll have up to 280 miles of range.

A spicy GTI version is also on the cards, as previewed by the ID GTI in 2023. That car should have more than 320hp, and it has some sporty styling upgrades over the standard car.
