Car changing is a big deal
I was really impressed by the MG HS, and it’s a real bargain if you buy a used example through Carwow.
This is the new MG HS, a family-friendly SUV with loads of standard equipment and a temptingly low price tag. It’s over £10,000 cheaper than a Volkswagen Tiguan, while offering similar levels of practicality.
It’s a proper bargain, but you can save even more by buying a second hand MG HS.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
Used MG HS deals
A new MG HS starts from £25,995, but you can get a low-mileage 2024 example for just £20,500 through Carwow.
The best deal I found though was on a top-spec plug-in hybrid version. This car would’ve cost £34,500 when new. This one is a late 2024 model with less than 3,000 miles on the clock, and it can be yours for just £28,265.

The plug-in hybrid gets an impressive 75 miles of pure electric range if you keep it charged up – plenty for most people’s daily commute. Being the top-spec Trophy model also means you get luxuries like heated leather seats, a 360 degree camera system and adaptive cruise control.
New MG HS: review in brief
You can find out all about the new MG HS in our full review, but here’s a quick summary of this cheap and cheerful SUV.
The MG HS is a handsome-looking thing with an interior which feels much more posh than its price tag would suggest. It also has plenty of rear seat space, although the boot isn’t quite as big as the Skoda Karoq’s.

To drive, this car is best-described as fine. It won’t set a petrolhead’s heart ablaze, and something like a Volkswagen TIguan does feel a bit more refined on the motorway. The HS is still comfy enough though, and there’s nothing about the way it drives which will get on your nerves.
MG HS alternatives
Not convinced by the MG HS? Here are three great alternatives to consider instead.
Citroen C5 Aircross: Super comfy and spacious inside, but the infotainment system isn’t the best.
Kia Sportage: Packed with tech and a great seven-year warranty, but it’s a bit stiff over bumps.
Skoda Karoq: Solid, sensible and comfy, but it’s not the most exciting SUV to look at.
