  • Full reveal coming this autumn
  • All-electric alternative to the Karoq
  • Similar design cues to the larger enyaq
  • Could have over 350 miles of range
  • On sale next year

The new Skoda Elroq has been confirmed for a full reveal in the autumn, and this new small electric SUV has been teased fr the first time. It’s one of a few new EVs from the brand, with the smaller Skoda Epiq also coming soon.

There aren’t many details around what’s powering this Kia Niro EV alternative yet, however it’ll share parts with other Volkswagen Group electric cars.

New Skoda Elroq price and UK release date

The new Skoda Elroq will be revealed in the autumn this year, with order books opening in 2025. There’s no word on price yet, however a figure of around £35,000 seems likely as this would place it below the Enyaq in Skoda’s range.

New Skoda Elroq design

This darkened silhouette is your first proper look at the new Skoda Elroq’s design. It signals an all-new design language for Skoda, with a much slimmer grille than the Enyaq’s which is flanked by thin LED lights. The traditional Skoda logo has also been ditched in favour of the new script across the bonnet.

A pre-production prototype has also been spotted out on the road, and this reveals a bit more of the car’s styling. You can just about see the main means poking out of the lower bumper, a bit like they do on the Karoq and Kamiq, and there are some slim air intakes off to the side.

New Skoda Elroq front

Looking from the side, there’s something of the Skoda Enyaq about the silhouette. It looks a bit like someone’s cut a slice out the middle of that car, and it has a similar stubby bonnet as well.

The Enyaq theme continues at the rear, where the taillights look almost identical to the Elroq’s larger stablemate. There’s a roof spoiler fitted to this prototype, suggesting that it’s a SportLine model – but is there anything sporty lurking under the skin?

New Skoda Elroq motors and batteries

Well it’s tricky to answer that question for now, because little is known about what’s powering the new Elroq. Skoda has confirmed that the Elroq will share parts with other Volkswagen Group electric cars, however being smaller than the Enyaq it might use some bits from the Volkswagen ID3 hatchback.

New Skoda Elroq rear

You can expect there to be an entry-level car with a single motor powering the rear wheels, likely to be the ID3’s 204hp unit. A dual-motor version could also be available with the Enyaq’s 286hp setup.

As for batteries, the Skoda Enyaq can manage up to 348 miles from its 82kWh pack, so the smaller Elroq could get even more range if it shares these parts – however nothing is confirmed yet.
