Lamborghinis vs electric cars: which is fastest in a drag race?
April 04, 2026 by Mat Watson
“Zero to sixty in three point five, baby you’ve got the keys so shut up and drive”
When Rhianna first sang these lyrics in 2007, that sort of performance was a huge brag because it was reserved for the most exotic sports cars. I fear she’d need to adapt the song in 2026 though, because there are spacious electric family cars capable of accelerating that fast these days.
To prove it, I’ve gathered three Lamborghinis – the Huracan Performate, the Aventador SVJ and the new Revuelto – and I’m going to drag race them against a Smart #5 Brabus and a Tesla Model S Plaid.
Let’s take a look at the stats…
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
Smart Brabus #5

Let’s start with the Smart Brabus #5. This is a large, family-friendly SUV packing two electric motors with a combined 646hp and 710Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels, and it has launch control.
The Smart is quite heavy though, tipping the scales at 2,378kg. It also costs from £51,800, making it the cheapest car in today’s lineup.
Tesla Model S Plaid

You can’t have a fast EV drag race without a Tesla Model S Plaid, because it’s truly bonkers. The three electric motors put out a combined 1,020hp and 1,420Nm of torque. It also has a “Cheetah Stance” mode which squats the rear end for maximum traction off the line.
It weighs 2,190kg, and this car is worth around £80,000 as it sits. When new, it would’ve cost over £100,000.
Lamborghini Huracan Performante

The first car representing internal combustion is the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. It uses a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine with 640hp and 600Nm of torque, and this drives all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
It has launch control, and at just under 1,500kg the Huracan is also the lightest car here. Right now, this Lamborghini is worth about £185,000.
Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

Turning up the heat a bit we have the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. It’s powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 770hp and 720Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed robotised manual gearbox with launch control.
The SVJ weighs in at 1,620kg, and it is worth around £450,000 in 2026.
Lamborghini Revuleto

Finally, we come to the new Lamborghini Revuelto. Like the Aventador, it has a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine, but it’s assisted by three electric motors. Combined, you get 1,015hp and 1,062Nm of torque.
This is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the Revuleto weighs 1,872kg. It’s also the most expensive car here at £455,000.
So what will happen? Well we’re going to run this race in heats of two cars, starting with the Smart taking on the Huracan. The winner of this race will then go on to battle a faster car, until we’re left with one overall winner.
