New BMW iX1 eDrive 20 price and specs

The new BMW iX1 eDrive 20 is available to order now, with prices starting from £44,560. You’ll be able to choose between three trim levels: Sport, xLine and M Sport, and it’s a motor down on the range-topping xDrive 30 model, so as a result it’s less expensive.

Go for the Sport model and you’ll part with £44,560 which gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a reversing camera and cruise control. Splash out £46,500 for the xLine and you get larger 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, a sports steering wheel and some chrome trim on the bumper.

Those wanting some more aggressive styling will need to spend £49,310 on the M Sport. This gets you a sporty bodykit with deeper front and rear bumpers, 19-inch alloy wheels and sports seats with suede-like inserts. For comparison, the dual-motor iX1 xDrive 30 will cost over around £7,000 more for an equivalent trim.

New BMW iX1 eDrive 20 motors and batteries

The main difference between this eDrive 20 and the xDrive 30 is the lack of a motor on the rear axle. That makes it less powerful, putting out 204hp rather than the 313hp you get in the dual-motor version.

It’ll do 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds, three seconds slower than the xDrive 30. There is an upside to this reduced power though, and that’s increased range. This single-motor car has up to 296 miles of range, up from 270 miles in the dual-motor car.
