Ford F-150 Raptor R vs tuned Ford Ranger Raptor – Europe battles the USA on the Carwow drag strip

Tuned Ford Ranger Raptor

The Ford Ranger Raptor has a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 which usually puts out 292hp and 583Nm of torque. However, this one has been tuned to produce 500hp and 700Nm of torque.

This is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The Ranger weighs in at 2,478kg, and costs £65,000 with all the performance upgrades.

Ford F-150 Raptor R

That makes the F-150 seem quite expensive, because it costs an eye-watering £140,000 by the time you’ve imported one to the UK. Still, it has a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 with 720hp and 868Nm of torque to make you feel better about emptying your bank account.

Power goes to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox, and the Raptor R tips the scales at 2,699kg.

Tuned Ford Ranger Raptor vs Ford F-150 Raptor R: What will happen?

On paper, the F-150 should cream this with its extra 220hp. However, it is also hauling an additional 221kg over the Ranger, so it’s going to be a close call. You’ll have to watch the video to see what happens.
