Drag race: Pagani Huayra vs Ferrari Daytona SP3

June 21, 2025 by

I’m going to drag race the Ferrari Daytona SP3 against the Pagani Huayra Roadster to see which of these ultra-rare and expensive hypercars is quickest. I’ll be driving the Ferrari, while Racing Driver Sam is behind the wheel of the Pagani.

We’ll start off with a good old-fashioned drag race, before moving on to a rolling race from 20km/h in fourth gear and finishing with a brake test. First though, let’s look at the stats.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Pagani Huayra Roadster vs Ferrari Daytona SP3: the stats

My Ferrari has a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine with 840hp and 697Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels only, and it has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with launch control.

It tips the scales at 1,600kg, making it a featherweight in today’s world of hybrids and electric cars, and it costs in excess of £4 million.

The Pagani Huayra has a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 with 802hp and 1,050Nm of torque. Like the Ferrari it also has a seven-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive, however it’s an automated manual rather than a dual-clutch system.

This car is also lighter than the Ferrari at just 1,350kg, and it costs over £4 million. It seems pretty clear-cut on paper, however the Pagani does have a handicap.

Pagani Huayra Roadster vs Ferrari Daytona SP3: what will happen?

With more power and less weight, you might think the Pagani Huayra would walk all over the Daytona SP3. However, in order to use launch control you have to switch off all of the traction and stability control systems.

So with all that power going to the rear wheels and no driver aids, Racing Driver Sam will have his work cut out to launch this thing cleanly.
