This is the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae — the last pure V12 supercar the Italian firm will ever build.
It’s a run-out special for an icon that’s been on sale since 2011, and gets an appropriate boost in power plus some styling tweaks.
Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae design
The Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae takes the looks of the S model and ups the ante a little.
The most obvious change is a boatload of extra carbon fibre bits, such as the new front bumper, massive side skirts and rear diffuser. Despite the add ons, the new Ultimae is 25kg lighter than the standard Aventador S.
20-inch alloy wheels come as standard, though you can opt for 21-inch wheels if you prefer (and why wouldn’t you?)
You’ve got the choice of the Ultimae in coupe or drop-top roadster form — limited to 350 and 250 units each, respectively — with 18 standard colours to pick from. Pay a decent undisclosed premium and there are more than 300 others hues to choose from.
Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae interior
There’s not a huge difference inside the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae compared with the S, with the exception of a ‘001 of 350/250’ plaque depending on your choice of coupe or roadster.
Black leather and Alcantara comes throughout the cabin as standard along with ‘comfort’ seats. Hand Lamborghini a blank cheque and it’ll be happy to trim the interior in your choice of custom materials, too.
Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae engine
This will be the last Lamborghini to use a pure petrol V12 with no hybrid gubbins attached. It’s for the good of the planet, sure, but we’ll miss this dinosaur.
The 6.5-litre unit does get a 40hp boost to 780hp as well as 720Nm of torque. That’s sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The result is a 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds for the coupe at least, a 221mph top speed.
Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Utimar price and release date
No word yet on how much the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae will cost, but a price around the £400,000 is the expected ballpark. Sales will start later in 2021.
