Drag race: Koenigsegg Agera RST vs Tesla Model S Plaid vs Suzuki Hayabusa

Mat’s taken the wheel of the Koenigsegg for this race. Mounted behind him is a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 1,360hp and 1,573 Nm of torque. That’s a crazy amount of power in a car with rear-wheel-drive, and one which weighs just 1,395kg giving it a power-to-weight ratio of almost 1:1. The engine is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and the Agera costs a whopping £3.5 million.

The Tesla Model S Plaid is a lot cheaper than that, costing £115,360. It’s powered by three electric motors with 1,020hp and 1,430Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels. It is quite a bit heavier than the Koenigsegg though, tipping the scales at 2,190kg.

Finally, let’s take a closer look at the Suzuki Hayabusa. It has a 1.3-litre supercharged four-cylinder engine with 385hp and 267Nm of torque. That sounds small compared to the other cars here, however this bike weighs just 257kg so it should still be more than competitive. It’s also the cheapest vehicle here at £50,000.
