Ferrari vs Lamborghini drag race: Speciale vs Pista vs STO vs Performante

April 25, 2026 by

The Ferrari vs Lamborghini beef is one which has been raging on for about 60 years, and it’s not going to go away anytime soon. Fans are fiercely loyal to their chosen brands, but I’m going to try and use a series of drag races to determine which is the fastest.

To do this, I’ve got hold of four versions of the Lamborghini Huracan, along with the Ferrari alternatives. I’ll be racing them against each other in heats of two cars at a time, with the winner staying on to battle the next one. By the end, we’ll have one winner.

Let’s take a look at the stats…

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2

Starting with the Lambos, this is a Huracan LP 580-2. It’s the least powerful of the four, with 580hp and 540Nm of torque coming from its naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine.

Power is sent to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and this car weighs around 1,490kg. This 2019 example is worth around £135,000 today.

Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4

Next up is the LP 610-4, which also uses a 5.2-litre V10 engine. This one puts out 610hp and 560Nm of torque, and it sends power to all four wheels, not just the rear ones, via a seven-speed gearbox.

The all-wheel drive system does add a bit of weight, with this car tipping the scales at 1,520kg, and it’s worth around £140,000.

Lamborghini Huracan Performante

The Performante is a lightened, more track-focussed version of the Huracan which was launched in 2017, and it has 640hp and 600Nm of torque from its V10 engine.

It also has a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive, and the Performante weighs around 1,490kg. This car is worth approximately £180,000.

Lamborghini Huracan STO

Finally, we come to the most extreme Huracan in today’s lineup. The STO is a bit of a monster, with a naturally-aspirated V10 engine sending 640hp and 565Nm of torque to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed gearbox.

It’s also the lightest Lamborghini here, coming in at 1,440kg, and it’s also the most valuable. It’s worth £300,000.

Ferrari 458 Speciale

Now for the Ferraris. This is the 458 Speciale, and it has a 4.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine with 605hp and 540Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

It weighs just under 1,400kg, and these cars are going up in value. This one is worth around half a million pounds.

Ferrari 488 Pista Spider

Next up for the prancing horses is the Ferrari 488 Pista, which has a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 720hp and 770Nm of torque. It drives the rear wheels, and has a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

This car weighs 1,485kg, and it’s worth around £400,000 in 2026.

Ferrari 296 GTS

Finally, let’s take a look at the Ferrari 296 GTS. It’s our first and only hybrid of the day, with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor. Combined they make 830hp and 740Nm of torque.

This is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and the 296 tips the scales at 1,540kg. It’s worth £280,000.
