Drag race: McLaren 750S vs Ferrari 296 GTB vs Lamborghini Huracan vs Porsche 911

You’ll find Mat behind the wheel of the 750S today. Sitting just behind him is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 750hp and 800Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 750S is reasonably light by modern standards, tipping the scales at 1,400kg.

Lined up next to the McLaren is a Ferrari 296 GTB, sporting a high-tech hybrid system. It has a 3.0-litre V6 engine, paired with an electric motor for a combined 830hp and 740Nm of torque. It’s also rear-wheel-drive and has an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the complicated hybrid setup hasn’t actually made it that much heavier than the 750S. It comes in at 1,470kg.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante takes a more old-school approach to performance. It uses a stinking great 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 with 640hp and 600Nm of torque. It may be slightly down on power compared to the McLaren and the Ferrari, but it has all-wheel-drive for better traction, and it weighs 1,382kg.

Finally then, we have an old Carwow favourite. The Porsche 911 Turbo S has a fantastic four-wheel-drive and launch control system, so it gets off the line perfectly every time. Slung out over the rear wheels is a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine with 650hp and 800Nm of torque, and the 911 weighs in at 1,640kg.

So, which of these supercars will come out on top today on the slightly icy runway? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
