Drag race: Porsche 918 Spyder vs Peugeot 208 WRX

Obviously, we’re not talking about a regular Peugeot 208. This is Red Bull’s World Rally Cross car, and it has a bit more power than the 1.2-litre shopping car you’ll find in a supermarket car park. Mounted behind the drover is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a whopping 620hp, sent to all four wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Mat’s behind the wheel of the Porsche 918 Spyder. It has a 4.6-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine, paired with two electric motors putting out a combined 887hp and 1,280Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels, and these days you’ll have to shell out around £1.3 million to add a 918 to your collection.
