Toyota are currently focusing on fuel economy and low emissions and as a result some critics have been accusing their cars of being slightly dull and lacking in excitement. However they are still making some very good small cars that offer low running costs.

The city cars – the iQ, Yaris, and Aygo – aren’t too bad, but the Avensis is deadly dull, as is the Urban Cruiser. The massive Land Cruiser is the only vehicle that can be seen from outer space and is as tough as old boots; sadly it drinks like a fish too, and would bankrupt a Texan oil billionaire…
The Prius is the original hybrid and widely regarded by its owners, despite only gaining a moderate buzzScore. In short, no matter which Toyota you are looking at, their rivals are probably producing a better version of it.
