2016 Fiat 500S: complete guide

March 03, 2016 by

Fiat has given the facelifted 500 a sporty makeover in the form of the new 500S. It gets a bodykit and unique touches inside and out

The first Fiat 500S was a slightly restyled 500 with sporty bumpers designed specifically for American markets. It proved so popular that it was eventually put on sale in Europe and the UK. Fiat has launched a brand new 500S at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show based on the recently facelifted 500.

If this small yet stylish city car sounds perfect for you, make sure you use our Fiat 500 car configurator to get a brilliant deal on your next new car.

New Fiat 500S exterior changes

The new 500S comes with the same updated head- and fog lights as the standard facelifted car but features new 15-inch alloy wheels, restyled front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a rear spoiler on the boot lid. Selected exterior details, including the door handles, mirror caps and alloy wheels, get an exclusive satin graphite finish. A chrome exhaust tip and tinted rear windows are also fitted as standard.

Drivers can choose from two 500S specific paint colours, electronica blue (above) and matt green (below). Further optional extras include larger 16-inch alloy wheels with a new ‘matt diamond’ finish.

New Fiat 500S interior changes

The 500S’ interior can be specced with either blue, white or yellow trim to contrast the black roof lining and seats. Satin graphite detailing on the dashboard and the new sports steering wheel are standard while leather upholstery is an optional extra.

A digital instrument display screen is fitted to all 500S models, as is a new seven inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and DAB digital radio. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality will soon be made available to 500S drivers.

A 440W Beats audio system with seven speakers and a digital amplifier makes its debut on the 500S. This optional extra will eventually be offered on the rest of the Fiat range in late 2016. Fiat claims the system helps recreate the sound spectrum an artist would hear while in the sound studio.

New Fiat 500S price and release date

Fiat hasn’t yet revealed how much the 500S will cost but we expect it to be approximately £150 to £200 more than an equivalent standard car. We will find out for sure, however, when it goes on sale in the UK in summer 2016.
