- Expected to share a chassis with upcoming A3 replacement
- Could be inspired by TT Sportback Concept – shown throughout
- Heavily refreshed interior will boast new infotainment tech
The Audi A3 is already offered as a three-door hatchback, a five-door Sportback, a compact Saloon and a Convertible but, from 2019, it’ll also be available as a stylish four-door coupe. Audi hopes this new model will drive buyers away from the likes of the Mercedes CLA.
2019 Audi A3 Coupe styling
The new A3 Coupe is expected to take inspiration from the TT Sportback concept, shown above. Its elegant roofline and sporty proportions will join a selection of unique trim pieces to help this new car stand out from the rest of the A3 range.
2019 Audi A3 Coupe interior
When this new car arrives, it should be treated to an updated version of Audi’s excellent Virtual Cockpit infotainment system and a stylish, minimalist cabin with a wealth of upmarket materials.
The Coupe’s graceful sloping roofline might give it a more attractive silhouette than either the saloon or hatchback but it’ll almost certainly limit read headroom. Boot space is also expected to take a bit of a hit in pursuit of sporty styling.
2019 Audi A3 Coupe engines and driving
A selection of both petrol and diesel units will power this upcoming coupe through either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Entry-level cars will be front-wheel drive only while top-spec models should come fitted with a quattro four-wheel-drive system. We’re keeping our fingers crossed Audi will offer a raucous RS3 Coupe model powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder unit, too.
2019 Audi A3 Coupe price and release date
When it hits UK roads in 2019 we expect the A3 Coupe to cost approximately the same across the range as the Mercedes CLA. Entry-level models should set you back around £25,000 while top-spec versions could come with a price tag approaching £40,000.
