New Lexus RX design

If you like your luxury SUV to stand out, then the Lexus RX has you covered. You certainly won’t lose it in a multi-storey.

Up front, the huge Lexus ‘Spindle’ grille is the most dominant feature, flanked by some smaller air intakes. The slim and angular headlights also feature LED technology as standard.

Down the sides, there’s plenty of creases and angles to keep things looking muscular. Huge 21-inch wheels are also available.

The rear end sees a full-width light bar and the Lexus name is spelled out across the tailgate. F Sport models feature a more aggressive bumper design as well.

New Lexus RX interior and infotainment

The interior of the new Lexus RX features a 14.0-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You may be pleased to see some physical controls on the dashboard, including dials for the climate control and volume.

The overall design is fairly minimalist and modern. The air vents being neatly integrated into the dash and the two-step design keeps things looking interesting. You can also opt for Vegan leather.

Wireless phone charging comes as standard across the range, as well as a voice assistant. An upgraded Mark Levinson 21-speaker sound system is available as an option. Being a Lexus, you know that everything will be well made.

New Lexus RX engines

The new Lexus RX will be available in the UK with a selection of hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines. Every model has all-wheel-drive and all are only available with an automatic gearbox.

The range kicks off with the RX350h hybrid, which gets a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor to make 245hp and 335Nm of torque.

If you want some more power, you can have the RX500h. This gets 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol which outs out 371hp and 572Nm of toque.

Finally, you have the RX450h+ plug-in hybrid model. This pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 306hp and 572Nm of torque. It can also do 40 miles on electric power alone thanks to an 18.1kWh battery.

New Lexus RX price and release date

The new Lexus RX is expected to go on sale towards the end of the year, with deliveries starting early in 2023.

As for pricing, there’s no word on that yet. You can expect it to wear a price tag above the current car’s £56,215 though, somewhere closer to £60,000 would be a safe bet.
