Nissan’s luxury car line, Infiniti, is obsessive about driving performance and since the spring they’ve been exploring performance through a very different medium – art.
Teaming up with global design magazine designboom they’ve launch their first ever Digital Art Competition which is also tied in with openings of new state of the art Infiniti showrooms.
The competition has three stages each focusing on one element of the Infiniti brand, and the first theme is ‘Inspired Performance’ which has seen hundreds of exciting entries from digital design talent with concepts for sculptures, projections and installations.
Designs from the six finalists which were selected by an expert jury are currently being debuted in the luxury Manchester showroom in Stockport which is in the style of a boutique hotel. The next stop of the tour will be Leeds (Oct 21st-298th) followed by other locations across Europe.
Our favourite from the finalists is the work of Japanese artist Nukumi Shinji, “Infiniti Passion’ which showcases the art, craft, engineering and passion literally being poured into creating an Infiniti car. It’s a great fit for Infiniti who design their models from the inside out, considering the driver, passenger and heartbeat of the entire vehicle before anything else everything else stemming from this interior space.
Not only will there be an array of the latest range of high performance vehicles, but the Infiniti Reveal gallery will display digital art and inspired performance by artists. Visitors get the chance to vote for their favourite piece of digital art, the winner receiving a €10,000 prize fund.
To visit the gallery, register on www.infinitireveal.com for invitations in Stockport and other future locations.
