The driver of this Audi Q3 prototype has had a bad day at the office, as the small SUV pays an unexpected visit to a snowy ditch. Read on for all you need to know about this BM X1 alternative.

  • New Audi Q3 has a date with a tree during testing
  • Third generation of Audi’s small SUV
  • All-new exterior styling
  • Could share interior parts with Q6 e-tron
  • May go on sale in 2025

This is the all-new Audi Q3, and this prototype has found its way into a snowy ditch during development testing. Whoops. Still, at least it gives a chance to gawk at the all-new exterior design.

There are no images of the interior just yet, however it’s likely to take design cues from the recently-revealed Audi Q6 e-tron’s cabin.

New Audi Q3 design

Carwow’s spy photographers have wrapped up warm to capture the new Audi Q3 during development testing in the snow, and the driver of this prototype must’ve been pushing the limits of grip because they ended up in a ditch.

Ignoring the impromtu off-roading session, the front of the new Q3 appears to have a completely revamped design. The split-level headlights are similar to the ones found on the recently-revealed Audi Q6 e-tron, and the wide grille looks very different to anything we’ve seen from the brand before.

The side profile is pretty similar to today’s Q3, with a sloping roofline lending it a more sporty appearance compared to a Mercedes GLA. A Q3 Sportback may also join the lineup with an even more coupe-esque shape.

The time spent wedged in a snow back meant our photographers could get a good look at the rear of this new Q3, where you can see some new taillights akin to those found on the flagship Audi Q8 e-tron. The rest of the car is pretty well covered for now though.

New Audi Q3 interior and infotainment

There are no official pictures of the new Audi Q3’s interior just yet, however it’s likely to get a similar design to the new Audi Q6 e-tron’s.

Expect the new Q3 to share interior technology with the Audi Q6 e-tron (pictured)

This hasn’t been confirmed, however the Q6 e-tron does feature an all-new interior design which is likely to shape the cabins of future models. Expect to see a similar curved infotainment display and swoopy dashboard.

When will I be able to buy the new Audi Q3?

An official release date for the new Audi Q3 hasn’t been confirmed yet, however it’s likely to make its debut in early 2025. There’s no official word on pricing yet either, but expect it to fetch a premium over the current car’s £33,750 starting price.
