Mat’s behind the wheel – or the yoke in this case, of the Tesla Model S Plaid. It’s powered by three electric motors putting out 1,020hp and 1,420Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels. It is quite heavy though thanks to the massive battery, tipping the scales at 2,200kg.

Sitting next to the Tesla is a carwow drag race favourite, the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It has a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. The standard car puts out 650hp and 800Nm of torque, however this isn’t a standard Turbo S. It’s been tweaked by ES Motors with an exhaust, intake and new hybrid turbos to give it a whopping 1,011hp and 1,000Nm of torque. It’s quite a lot lighter than the Tesla as well, coming in at 1,650kg.

Finally, we have the BMW M5 Competition. Like the Porsche, its engine has had plenty of work done to up the power. Its 4.0-litre V8 has new twin turbochargers, a new intake and an ECU tune to give it 1,000hp and 1,100Nm of torque. All that oomph is sent to all four wheels via an automatic gearbox, and the car weighs 1,850kg.

So, which of these cars will come out on top? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
